Ebb Carbon, a pioneering water technology company, has partnered with the Saudi Water Authority (SWA), the government entity regulating the Kingdom’s water sector, to decarbonize desalination at an unprecedented scale. With Saudi Arabia accounting for 22 percent of global desalination capacity, the partnership targets megaton-level carbon dioxide removal within the next decade while improving freshwater recovery and overall plant efficiency.
With Ebb’s system, SWA gains increased water output, locally produced chemicals, and cleaner discharged brine. Ebb gains access to infrastructure capable of removing up to 85 megatonnes of CO₂ annually across SWA’s existing assets.
And with 150+ million cubic meters of seawater processed daily across the global desalination industry, this represents one of the world’s largest opportunities for carbon removal.
