Ebb Carbon has developed an electrochemical ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) approach that safely enhances seawater’s capacity to absorb atmospheric CO₂ by raising pH and promoting bicarbonate formation. 

This scalable and cost-competitive solution integrates with existing desalination and seawater processing facilities, enabling gigaton-scale carbon removal by leveraging the ocean’s vast surface area. In addition to removing CO₂ durably (for 10,000+ years), nutrient-neutral alkalinity reduces ocean acidification—benefiting marine ecosystems such as shellfish and coral.
